After 17 years work for administration of urban parks and open spaces, urban planning and land policy at Ministry of Construction, National Land Agency and Nagano Prefecture Government as an administrative official, I became a faculty of University in 1999. Therefore, my target of research and education is to develop new planning system or policy about conservation or creation of urban environment, landscape, green and open spaces, and pass these results to new generation who are expected to play active as leaders in urban planning field.

Nowadays, in advance of globalism, many cities are thinking about how to survive through competitions with other cities. In these competitions, the key points of getting success are how to make the city sustainable and attractive. I think the indispensable contents to get these successes are green and natural environment.

Therefore, my main research theme is 'Policy Proposal' that shows concrete and realizable roadmaps about the measures for making beautiful, attractive and vital cities with the harmony with green and natural environment.

To reach these research target, I research about land use planning system (especially urban land use master plan and urban farm land use plan), policy for realize the land use plan, the method of citizens' participation to planning and the method of management of parks and natural environment.

Also, I am a faculty of Hyogo Prefectural Awaji Landscape Planning and Horticulture Academy. In the academy, I am managing the community enhancement volunteer training program and in this program I am training 'Community Gardeners' who are expected to act as volunteer leaders.

Recent research interests My main research theme is 'Policy Proposal' that shows concrete and realizable roadmaps about the measures for making beautiful, attractive and vital cities with the harmony with green and natural environment. Recently, I have much interest in program creating for revitalizing local area economics with green and natural environment like following subjects besides conservation or creation of green and natural environment. 1. Improvement of planning system and contents in 'Urban Green Master Plan' by Urban Green Act. 2. Developing of the program to make effect on local economics by urban green and natural environment. 3. Developing of effective planning system for reducing CO2 emission in urban area using urban green. 4. Developing of rooftop vegetable garden system for improving urban environment, welfare for aged people, education through food producing and creating new business model by rental farm on the rooftop. 5. Developing of new tourism program for foreign tourists by using Japanese rural landscape.
